Slated To Open On July 1
Radha Soami Satsang Beas centre in Delhi's Chattarpur has been converted into a 10,000-bed COVID-19 care centre, which will have all the facilities for coronavirus patients.
Recyclable Beds
South Delhi District Magistrate BM Mishra said that 10 per cent of the beds will have oxygen facility and added that the beds are made of cardboard.
10 Times Larger Than China's
While announcing the inauguration of the COVID centre, a senior Home Ministry official said, ¡°This would be 10 times bigger than the field facility for COVID patients that was temporarily set up in China¡¯s Leishenshan to accommodate 1,000 patients."
ITBP takes charge of a COVID-19 care centre
ITBP on Wednesday took charge as the nodal agency to operate the COVID-19 care facility for the smooth functioning of the facility at Radha Soami Satsang Beas in Chhattarpur area of the national capital.
Largest COVID-19 Care Centre In The Country
¡°It is expected that a 2,000-bed facility will be operational at the centre from June 26, 2020. The total bed capacity may go up to 10,200. This will be the largest single COVID-19 care centre in the national capital and the country,¡± ITBP said.

In order to curb the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the national capital, the state government has revised its COVID plan and decided to screen every house by July 6.

As part of the government's 'Delhi Covid Response Plan' to control the spread of coronavirus, all containment zones will be reviewed, redesigned by June 26 and the screening of every house in these zones will be done by June 30.
