Chelsea have written their name in the history books of European competitions after beating Real Betis 4-1 at the UEFA Conference League 2025 final. Goals from Enzo Fernandez, Nicholas Jackson, Jadon Sancho, and Moises Caicedo helped the London-based side to claim a unique section in UEFA history.

Chelsea have written their name in the history of European competitions after winning the UEFA Conference League. The London-based club became the first to win all five UEFA men¡¯s senior club tournaments following their 4-1 victory against the Spanish side Real Betis.
Abde Ezzalzouli scored for Real Betis within 10 minutes of the match getting underway and led the game throughout the first half. However, a strong performance from Chelsea¡¯s goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen kept the score within the Premier League side¡¯s reach.
In the second half, Chelsea looked more confident on the ball and operated it through the open spaces on the flanks, which was not seen in the first 45 minutes. A quick counter from the right flank saw Cole Palmer make a majestic run and deliver a pinpoint curler towards a running Enzo Fernandez, who headed it into the net.

Thereon, the match was completely in Chelsea¡¯s hands. Minutes later, Nicholas Jackson gave the lead to the two-time UEFA Champions League title holders. Jadon Sancho and Moises Caicedo also joined the party and settled the match, writing the name of the club in a unique part of the history of the UEFA competitions.
Chelsea went from nearly getting knocked out in the qualifiers to lifting the trophy
Chelsea¡¯s European trophy hunt almost ended in August 2024. English clubs do not have to go through playoff rounds except in the Conference League. Chelsea secured a 2-0 victory over Swiss club Servette in the first leg of the playoff round.
In the second leg, Servette made a comeback and scored two goals to tie up the aggregate score, but a consolation goal from Chelsea helped them secure a shaky victory in the dying minutes of the match. This could have ended the European campaign for Enzo Maresca¡¯s Chelsea side.

From losing to Servette to beating an in-form Real Betis, it was a journey that will help Enzo Maresca dream bigger with his side.
Winning the UEFA Conference League trophy was a historic feat for the Blues. Success in UEFA¡¯s newest club competitions means that Chelsea now have a unique combination of European trophies, having already claimed the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup in addition to the discontinued UEFA Cup Winners' Cup.
Chelsea have now won nine men¡¯s UEFA club competitions, positioning them eighth in the all-time rankings behind Real Madrid (26), AC Milan (17), Barcelona (14), Liverpool (13), Bayern Munich (12), Juventus (11) and Ajax (10).
