It¡¯s one thing to gather a large number of angry people with signs. It¡¯s another thing to bring together a large number of angry people in a creative way.
We have come across various forms of protests, but over a period of time people have got inventive and showed their disappointment in unconventional ways. In a similar vein, a group of women took to the streets to protest against potholes and damaged roads in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal.
However, what caught the attention is the fact that the women sought to ¡°catwalk¡± on the damaged streets as a way to grab the concerned authorities¡¯ attention, India Today reported.
In a mock outdoor fashion show, the women of Danish Nagar made sure their demands for road repair were heard loud and clear.
Women dressed up in sarees walked the ramp pothole on the dilapidated road as the film song - Ae Bhai, Zara Dekh Ke Chalo - played in the background.
According to a report by India Today, the women also demanded that the colony should be handed over to the municipal corporation, otherwise all residents would stop paying property tax.
One of the protesting women said in the report that they have complained about the poor condition of roads at all levels, however, never received a response or a solution.
¡°Because of the huge potholes on the roads, accidents are happening every day. Yet the roads are not being repaired. What are we paying taxes for?¡± a resident told India Today.
Due to incessant rains, roads in many areas of Bhopal have been damaged, resulting in potholes and waterlogging.
