People can be meticulous and there is nothing wrong with that, but can it become a part of your relationship? A recent TikTok video by a user shocked the internet when she shared that one of her previous boyfriends used to send her elaborate spreadsheets marking everything he had bought for her the past month.
Boyfriend Used To Send Monthly Spreadsheet Bill To His Girlfriend For Everything He Bought For Her
The idea of asking your significant other to pay up is completely alien to many which led to a common shock among the viewers of the video who were as much as appalled by the poster¡¯s ex-boyfriend¡¯s behaviour. The TikToker shared how her ex-boyfriend used to track every bit he spent on her to the last penny. If you think this cannot be true, think again.
Maddy, the peculiar lad¡¯s ex-girlfriend, took to the social media platform to share her story with the people. After hearing her side and even taking a look at the evidence she shared in the video, many people stood in support of the girl. Maddy said in the video that she did not know at the time, while she was in a relationship with the guy, that sending spreadsheets to your partner was not normal. She believed that it was ordinary to have such a transactional relationship.
In the video, she put up captions that read, "When my ex-bf charged me $3 for a banana and a piece of toast and sent me monthly Excel spreadsheets of the money I owed him, and I had no idea that's not how normal relationships worked," and she overlaid her video with the song lyrics, "I remember when I lost my mind."
He Colour-Coded The Spreadsheets To Differentiate The Transactions
In a previous video on her account, she gave her followers a deeper dive into the spreadsheets she used to get from her then-boyfriend. The spreadsheets were extremely organised, with the cells coloured in different shades to differentiate between the transactions. The columns on the spreadsheet not only mentioned her half which was to be paid to the boyfriend but also the product the money was spent on like grocery and kebabs.
She explained in the video, "He would send me about one of these a month, and as you can see he was nice enough to colour code it," as she showed the spreadsheet, and added, "That was great, and then at the bottom of this - I think it got cut out - would be the total."
