Taking a stroll on a glass bridge can be quite an adventure until it is not. A man was left stranded 330ft in the air after a bridge in China was damaged by strong winds.
The glass-bottomed bridge is located at a resort built into the Piyan Mountain in the Chinese city of Longjing, Daily Mail reported.
Pictures of the incident which have gone viral on social media show a man clinging onto the railing after high-speed winds blew away some of the glass panels on Friday. After he was trapped momentarily, he managed too crawl to safety, guided by firefighters and park officials, according to reports.
A statement posted to Longjing City¡¯s official Weibo social media account blamed extreme weather for damaging the glass deck of the bridge in the area popular with tourists in China¡¯s north-east.

"Our staff rushed to the scene with emergency equipment and successfully transferred the trapped person to safety. The incident caused no casualties. The trapped person was taken to hospital for observation. He was discharged as his mental and physical condition were stable," it said.
It was reported that the Piyan Mountain area has now been closed off and officials are assessing the condition of some of the other park structures.
Such structures have always raised safety concerns in China. In 2016, the world¡¯s longest glass-bottomed bridge opened over the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon in China¡¯s Yunan Province but was forced to close temporarily 13 days later.

As per a report in Metro, the 1,400ft bridge was only designed to carry 8,000 people a day but had been receiving ten times that number of visitors due to its popularity, as per Metro
In 2019, one person died and six people were injured after they fell off a glass slide in the Guangxi province. Reports at the time said heavy rain had made the glass slippery.
