According to the exchanged messages, the landlord pledged to refund the security deposit upon Swaroop's departure. A few hours later, Swaroop provided an update, expressing gratitude to @MumbaiPolice for swift resolution: "Super grateful to @MumbaiPolice for resolving this immediately.
I guess there's still a silver lining to Mumbai." In the comments, he detailed the police's request for him to visit the station and share his side of the story. Despite the landlord's initial insistence on a deposit transfer, Swaroop's bank statement revealed otherwise.
An hour later, the issue was rectified. Swaroop disclosed additional costs incurred, including moving charges and deductions, resulting in a loss of 30k, along with furnishings made in the previous house. He anticipated spending 15k on furnishing the new residence, equivalent to 1.5 months' rent.
