Dogs are extremely sensitive to firecrackers because they have a stronger hearing power they are easily susceptible to high decibel sounds. A case has been registered against the trio under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
Permanent deafness, blindness and panic attacks, these are just some of the ways bursting crackers affects animals. To make matters worse, there are some heartless people who have no qualms when it comes to torturing strays with firecrackers.
Dogs are extremely sensitive to firecrackers because they have a stronger hearing power, they are easily susceptible to high decibel sounds. A dog¡¯s hearing ability is seven times more than humans and while even we can't take the loud sounds of the crackers, imagine what the poor animal go through.

In another gut-wrenching case of animal cruelty, a group off miscreants from Karnataka's Shivamogga district, thought to it was a great idea to tie a cracker to a stray dog's tail.
Animals have no comprehension of the sudden madness of crackers that ensues during various events and festivals, and to tie a cracker to a dog's tail is beyond sinful.
In the video that's going viral, three menasitting near a parked bike, catch a stray dog and tie a cracker before setting it alight. The loud sound of the cracker immediately shocks the pooch who is seen running hundreds of feet away from them with the cracker tied on.
According to a TOI report, Dileep Nadig, founder-trustee of Malenadu Wildlife and Cultural Foundation, and Basava Prasad, founder,Animal Rescue Club, approached police seeking action.
"The incident was reported on October 26 at BR Project, Singanamane, around 7.30pm. It is learnt the accused lured lured the dog with a bun and tied a cracker to its tail," Dileep Nadig told TOI.

"One from the group taped the act, and the video has since gone viral. Later, the video was uploaded on Shivamogga Trolls, a Facebook page, after the bike number was identified," he added.
The activist duo visited the spot where the incident took place and found the dog healthy. A case has been registered against the trio under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
Intentional cruelty to animals is strongly associated with other serious crimes, including harm to humans and these people pose a serious threat to society. It is shameful and barbaric that some people find pleasure and fun in tormenting animals who cannot necessarily voice their pain.
