'Flying Taxi' Goes On Test Run On River Seine In Paris, Pulled Over By Cops For Speeding
An innovative boat that saves energy was undergoing a test run on Seine river in Paris when cops pulled over the 'eco-friendly' vehicle for over-speeding.
Named the 'Sea Bubble,' the white aerodynamic craft skimmed over Seine river at speeds of up to 30 km/hour, hovering 50 centimetres (1.5 feet) above water.
Sea Bubble's co-founder Alain Thebault told AP that the boat, which carries four passengers and one pilot, has green credentials as it is noise free and produces no pollution.
¡°Our vehicle has the right to go at 30km/h [18.6 mph], when normally the speed limit on the river is 12km/h [7.5 mph],¡± SeaBubbles CEO and co-founder Anders Bringdal told The Independent. ¡°So they just pulled us over to check our paperwork and make sure that all was in order.¡±

Despite their futuristic appearance, SeaBubbles are only authorized to attain a maximum speed of 25 kilometers per hour. A first prototype, for four passengers, was first tested on the Seine in June 2017, with mayor Anne Hidalgo taking a spin.
If the boat gets approved, commuters and sightseers may be able to book a Sea Bubble ride through a smartphone app just like Uber.
