These included a desire to be closer to parents, the convenience of having domestic assistance, the comparatively lower cost of living in India as opposed to the United Kingdom, a diminishing social life abroad, a pessimistic outlook on the UK economy, and the potential for an arranged marriage in India.
As per the details provided in the Reddit post, the 33-year-old's journey commenced with earning a degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science from IIT Delhi in 2012.
Following this, he worked as a quantitative analyst for an investment bank in Bengaluru for four years. Subsequently, he transitioned to London, where he remained in the banking sector for an additional five years and later spent approximately two years in the tech industry.
Throughout his 11-year career, the post highlighted a substantial growth in his total compensation (TC), beginning at ? 35 lakhs in 2013 and ultimately reaching 350,000 GBP by 2023.
Additionally, upon choosing to return to India, the individual disclosed that he meticulously calculated his yearly expenditures.
"I decided to reside with my parents for a period since I hadn't lived with them for the past 15 years, and I wasn't sure when I would have a similar opportunity again.
As a result, my current spending rate is lower than X (0.25-0.5X)," he clarified.
The man detailed that his regular outlays encompassed transportation, dining expenses, and a gym membership, along with intermittent costs associated with travel and personal projects.
The individual also underscored the significance of placing health and relationships above wealth in his present way of life.
He expressed that, moving forward, he has established enduring objectives for his life in India, including finding a life partner, initiating a family, and ambitiously aspiring to adopt 1000 children.
