Inspired By 'The League of Gentlemen'? These Bathroom Rules Issued By Airbnb Host Are Ridiculously Hilarious!
A man shared some bizarre but funny ¡®bathroom rules¡¯ issued by his Airbnb host, which include meticulous cleaning of the bathroom. Ian Hickton noticed the list of rules as soon as he entered the Airbnb apartment on July 14.
It reminded him of the film The League Of Gentlemen, in which characters Harvey and Val are known for having strict rules for their guests. Hickton also shared a picture of the rules with the caption, ¡®Actual house rules from the Airbnb I stayed at last night. Is this where @LeagueOfGentlem got the inspiration for Harvey and Val?¡¯

The instructions start on a pleasant note with the host asking the guests to use the washbasin without splashing water on the mirror. ¡®May I suggest, as a sign of courtesy to the person using the bathroom after yourself, that before leaving the bathroom, you wipe dry the chrome water tap and washbasin using the towel provided.¡¯
However, in addition to keeping the mirror clean, owner also asks the guests to keep some things in mind when it comes to showering. ¡®Before taking a shower, please lay the provided floor mat on the floor,¡¯ the list reads. ¡®When finished please put it back on the radiator to dry. If you are likely to splash the floor when using the washbasin, please do the same when using it.¡¯
The third paragraph continues with telling the guests to lay a mat on the bathroom floor before taking a bath. The next paragraph asks guests to use a ¡®squeegee¡¯ to remove water clinging onto glasses, tiles, and windows after a shower. ¡®When finished with the squeegee please use the towel that you will find in the bathroom to finish the job of drying the inside of the shower'.
The Airbnb host prefers that guests treat the toilet in a particular manner, by using the mandatory toilet brush.
¡®The purpose of the toilet brush is to remove any signs of your passage, of whatever colour, from inside the toilet, from the toilet rim, and from the underside of the toilet seat. The use of the toilet brush is not optional.¡¯
The last rule on the list applies only to the male guests, who are asked to take a ¡®seat both for number one and for number two¡¯.
Hickton tweeted that for the record the host was really nice and he had a pleasant stay. Here's his tweet:
For the record the host was very nice and I had a pleasant stay - if I hadn¡¯t read this in detail I wouldn¡¯t have thought anything of it. I of course left the place clean as I do anywhere as basic courtesy. Just thought it was funny.

As expected the list of rules went viral and received some hilarious reactions on social media.

They want guys to sit down for both number one and number two? That wouldn't work for me I've never sat down for a number two and never will.

I'd be sitting on the bath matt in the shower taking a shit and a piss at the same time using the squeegee to clean my ass. #lifegoals

Sounds reasonable to me. Be responsible.

Translation: I'm too cheap to hire a cleaning service and the only sign of your passage I want to see is in the form of dollars.

In other words, ¡°even though you have paid the air bnb cleaning fee, we want it to look as if the bathroom is clean for the next check in so we don¡¯t have to do anything!¡±?

These rules are very reasonable. I assume there is a shared bathroom. If guests spit tooth paste and leave it for other guests on the mirror and in the sink that is not ok. If the toilet looks like they ate Nutella out of it that is very not ok.
