Railways Respond To Finding Of Cockroach In A Man's Meal Served On Vande Bharat Train

What Happened At Vande Bharat Train?
A traveller journeying from Rani Kamlapati to Jabalpur aboard the Vande Bharat Express on February 1st was left 'traumatized' upon discovering a deceased cockroach in his meal.
Upon disembarking at Jabalpur railway station, he promptly lodged an official complaint with the West Central Railway.
Two days after the incident, the individual took to the X platform to share his experience. In response to the tweet, IRCTC acknowledged the complaint and apologised to the affected passenger.
"During my journey on February 1st, 2024, on train number 20173 from Rani Kamlapati to Jabalpur (Vande Bharat Express), I was deeply disturbed to find a deceased cockroach inside the food packet provided to me," stated Dr. Shubhendu Keshari while sharing several images on X platform.
The initial image depicts the formal complaint lodged by Dr Keshari with the West Central Railway - Jabalpur, where he mentioned his co-passenger, Rajesh Shrivastava, as a witness.
Subsequent images reveal the presence of the deceased cockroach within the non-vegetarian thali that he had ordered.
Following the tweet gaining significant attention, IRCTC apologized to the passenger, stating, "Sir, our sincere apology for your experience. The matter is viewed seriously, and the concerned service provider has imposed a hefty penalty. Moreover, monitoring has been strengthened at the source."
