Kerala Man Abandoned His Dog Because 'She Had An Illicit Relationship With A Nearby Dog!'
A man in Kerala gave the most obscure bizarre and unimaginable reason for abandoning his 3-year-old female Pomeranian. The dog was abandoned and found tethered to the gate of the World Market at Anayara in Thiruvananthapuram.
You might have heard of and seen multiple incidents of heartless owners abandoning their dogs for selfish reasons, or of heartbroken dogs whimpering and waiting for their owners to return. There are no laws against unscrupulous pet owners who abandon them, but socially these acts create an outrage. Usually, owners come up with reasons like they cannot afford to keep a dog anymore, or their pet has become unmanageable or they are shifting places or something of the sort.
But this man in Kerala gave the most obscure, bizarre and unimaginable reason for abandoning his 3-year-old female Pomeranian.
The dog was abandoned and found tethered to the gate of the World Market at Anayara in Thiruvananthapuram. The couple who found the dog informed a charity organisation, People For Animals, about it. The organisation takes care of treating and rehabilitating injured and abandoned dogs.
When a volunteer from the organisation, Shameem Faruque, came to the place and tried to win the little Pomerenian¡¯s confidence, she found a note that was tucked in her collar. The note was most probably from the owner and it stated the most insane reason of abandonment.
This is what it read ¡®This is a good breed. Good habits, Excess food is not needed. She has no disease. She is given a bath once in five days. She just barks. Over the past three years, she has not bitten anybody. Mostly she was fed with milk, biscuit and raw egg. NOW WE HAVE ABANDONED HER AFTER SHE HAD AN ILLICIT RELATIONSHIP WITH A NEARBY DOG!¡¯
¡°Such people who abandon dogs are a menace to society. Moreover, the reason given for abandoning this beauty shows certain human beings¡¯ utter nonsense and insensitivity, given the fact that there is always the option to sterilise the female dog,¡± Kerala Kaumadi quoted Shameem as saying.
Sreedevi S Karta, an animal activist posted on Facebook about the incident and scolded the owner for abandoning the dog for something as baseless as 'having an illicit relationship'. This is what the post translates to, ¡®I feel very anxious about the children in the family of the person who wrote this note.The person, who has spurned the natural behaviour of a humble dog as adultery, appears to be a moral fanatic¡ What would be the fate of his children If they ever dare to have an affair with anyone; he will even endanger their lives¡Hey, if you find any legal relationship between dogs, come¡we can solve your 'illicit relationship issue' by arranging a marriage for your dog after horoscope-matching and making a settlement on dowry¡thus you can get some peace of mind¡¡¯
So, basically, this guy felt the need to impose his 'morals' on an animal - who perhaps has no sense of a moral society. Social codes do not apply to animals and THEY DO NOT HAVE RELATIONSHIPS BASED ON MORALITY BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE A MORAL COMPASS.
We can only imagine how amplified these restrictions would be, when it comes to people around him.
