One of the few days in anyone's life when they are the centre of everyone¡¯s attention, a day that is completely theirs and they will remember forever, is their wedding day. And if the bride or the groom are not paying attention to each other, other things get awkward.
Kolkata groom working on laptop during wedding
One man was a tad bit distracted on his wedding day and has become an instant meme. It appears he has taken work from home far too seriously.
In a picture that is going viral on social media, a groom can be seen sitting at the mandap with a laptop in his hand while the rituals are taking place.
The hilarious picture shows a groom seated in the mandap, along with two priests. As the priest performs rituals, the man can be seen working on his laptop. Though it is not known what he was working on, we are assuming that it was some official work.
The photo was shared by an Instagram handle named ¡®Calcutta Instagrammers', with the caption, ¡°When ¡®work from home¡¯ stretches you to the next level.¡±
Viral photo leaves internet furious
The post has garnered more than 10,000 likes. While some users cracked jokes at the groom's expense, some felt that work should not come in the way of an important event like marriage.
"I don¡¯t find this funny. No organisation asks an employee to work on their wedding days, this person needs to get a life and learn work life balance if this is really true and not staged! God bless the woman he¡¯s marrying," a person said.
"Completely agree..I am working with an IT firm...n trust me it's so relatable...I keep my laptop in every possible place to ensure timely delivery of my work...I meet TAT, di report on time, do attend all con call timely what not....thanks to electronic media....if company gives such flexibility employees also pour their best output..." a second person said.
"This is height of toxicity and because of people exactly like the one this groom is trying to portray (or he himself is) the toxic work culture is continuing with minimal resistance. Corporate employees do get ample amount of leaves, and nobody can stop them from using that. People like this promote the culture where taking your hard earned leaves means underutilization," another added.
This isn't the first such instance. Last year, a groom was seen sitting at the mandap with a laptop in his hand while the rituals were on hold. As he worked on his laptop, the guests and the pandit were seen waiting for him to start the ritual.
