Man on road trip spelled 'will you marry me?' on map, realises they 'a good fit for each other'
Dan Hentschel, of Los Angeles, California, revealed his breakup on X, detailing how he carried out the marriage proposal. "When I proposed, my idea was simple: a road trip across the country that eventually spelt out: WILL YOU MARRY ME?" Hentschel, a mental health content provider, wrote.
They say if you really want to get to know someone from inside out, go on a trip with them! The true colours will come out in some situations or the other. If not, you will eventually realise if you like spending time with each other or if you are compatible with one another. That was not the plan for this US man, but what happened was probably good for both of them. Here's what we are talking about.
What did the US man do on the road trip?
When I proposed, my idea was simple.

A road trip across the country, that ultimately spelled out: WILL YOU MARRY ME.
The challenge would be keeping it a secret until the very end, since forming the letters properly required some trickery (I forgot my wallet, etc). pic.twitter.com/k7O1rdD5LP

What challenge did the man face?
According to his post, the challenge was to keep the GPS art idea a secret until the completion of the trans-American journey. So, from his ex-girlfriend's perspective, they were simply embarking on a long road trip.
The pair began their adventure on the Pacific Coast and travelled extensively throughout the US Interstate Highways before arriving on the Atlantic Coast.
Hentschel admitted to using "trickery" on several occasions, such as pretending to have misplaced his wallet, to carry out the message's design. The final route visualization highlights green gaps in the trail, indicating GPS errors.
How did the road trip end?
And in the end, the trip ended up having an even more important function.

It showed us that, ultimately, we weren't a good fit for each other.
The Californian's ideal proposal had always been a road trip across the United States. However, his meticulous effort to drive from coast to coast proved futile.
"The vacation ended up serving an even more essential purpose. It demonstrated that we weren't a good fit for each other," Hentschel remarked.
While he did not divulge the actual reasons for the separation, people online had a lot of assumptions. Here's what people said.

the fact that they spent so much for this trip only for them to breakup is a new level of pain?

Stupid. You should've just drawn it on the map and pretended you went through all these places when in reality you only drove in a straight line for a few days.

Every couple should be required to go on this trip together and if they make it to the end they stay together
