This Optical Illusion Uses Only Two Objects To Create A Design, Leaves Internet Stunned
This optical illusion creates a series of triangles, squares and lines, but most viewers are shocked to learn that all of these shapes are created with just two objects.
When it comes to an optical illusion, the Internet just can't seem to get enough of it. Remember the spinning cat gif picture? The case of six women with only five pairs of legs? Or a true cyan dress?
The latest illusion that has left the internet in a tizzy is a photo of a sculpture made from two sticks. This optical illusion creates a series of triangles, squares and lines. What is more intriguing is the fact that all of these shapes are created with just two objects.
Yves Lappert, an artist known for creating these ingenious illusions, uses just two sticks balanced against a wall to create the effect.
Lappert makes use of lighting and shadow techniques for his art. He uses spotlights on his sticks, making them project several shapes on the wall behind. He then photographs the shapes, allowing viewers to see several different figures instead of just two.
Lappert is able to create amazing and detailed photographs with just one or two objects, essentially using what he calls light work.
Most of his sculptures are created with everyday objects including wooden sticks, foam, metal bars, bike parts and spotlights.
Recently, there was an illusion that also went viral. The animated gif featuring a spinning cat left people divided, with some saying it is rotating clockwise and others saying it moved anti-clockwise.
The black feline is set against a white background. The intriguing part is that you can make it rotate in either direction with your mind, if the TikTok user who unloaded the illusion is to be believed.
Lexi Natoli shared the video on her @yolkfather account and said: ¡°You can change this optical illusion with your mind."
¡°At first it looks like the cat is only spinning in one direction, but after you look at it for long enough you will be able to make the cat switch directions with your mind," she said.
