Passenger Opens Emergency Exit Mid-Flight In South Korea, Wind Rips Through Yet No Major Injuries Reported
In a bizarre incident, a passenger on an Asiana Airlines flight opened the emergency gate mid-flight, causing the wind to rip through the gate. No major injuries or damages were reported.
In a shocking incident, a passenger on an Asiana Airlines flight opened the emergency exit mid-air and endangered the lives of nearly 200 passengers. The unidentified passenger opened the door as the plane was preparing to land at Daegu International Airport, South Korea.

The incident took place on Friday. The carrier told AFP that while the plane landed safely even after the passenger*s fatal mistake, several passengers had to be hospitalised after the incident. The Airbus A321-200 was carrying about 200 passengers as it approached the runway at Daegu International Airport on a domestic flight.
According to what the representative of the carrier told the outlet, a passenger tampered with the emergency exit and opened it while the plane was still about 200 meters away from the ground. The passenger was sitting near the exit gate and ※opened the door manually by touching the lever.§
The out-of-the-blue opening of the door left many passengers flabbergasted and caused some passengers to have breathing issues. After the plane landed safely, some passengers were taken to the hospital to get medical help. Though the airline says that no major injuries or damages have been reported thus far.
Nine Passengers Were Hospitalised After The Plane Landed Safely
As per South Korea's Yonhap News Agency, a total of nine people were hospitalised after the incident. Asiana also confirmed that the passenger had been booked, "has been taken to the police, and is under questioning" to find out why they opened the door in the first place.
Several videos of the incident have surfaced online. In one clip, a passenger captured the view of the person right next to the emergency exit that had been opened. The sky was all the camera could capture, and strong gusts of wind ripped through the door of the plane and hit passengers in the face.
