Watch: US Official Fired From Post After He Mercilessly Threw His Cat During A Video Meeting
California planning commissioner Chris Platzer is facing removal from his position after video of the April 20 meeting went viral. Video of the Vallejo Planning Commission teleconference shows Platzer picking up his pet cat and throwing the feline away just moments after he said Id like to introduce my cat. Platzer was also sipping from a beer bottle during the meeting.
To be on a work call while at home can be
tricky, especially if you have kids running around or have noisy neighbours. However, amid the coronavirus lockdown, people have been left with no choice but to
navigate their way through video calls and take part in weekly meetings, never mind the background noise.
Truth be told, at home, the space belongs to family - including kids, pets and noisy cookers. So, while they might be distracting, it is exactly where they are supposed to be, and there are worse things than your dog booping your colleagues on a video call. Like this incident, where a US official was literally fired from his post, moments after he was seen mercilessly throwing his cat during a meeting.

He went on to make derogatory comments like, "I¡¯m going to call bull*** on you little b***s,¡± according to the original commission meeting video released by Northern California.
The city of Vallejo, California is now seeking Platzer's removal from his post through an official resolution.
Paltzer
has allegedly tendered his resignation from the planning commission. ¡°I did not
conduct myself in the Zoom meeting in a manner befitting of a planning
commissioner and apologize for any harm I may have inflicted,¡± Platzer wrote in
an e-mail to Times-Herald.
¡°I serve at the pleasure of the council and no longer have that trust and backing. I extend my gratitude to those who have supported me during my tenure. I have always felt that serving Vallejo in a voluntary position is honorable because Vallejo is worth serving. We are all living in uncertain times and I certainly, like many of you, am adjusting to new normalcy,¡± he added.
The resolution will be on the agenda during the council meeting on April 28, where members will vote on Platzer's future on the committee.
