We Don't Deserve Animals: Kerala Mahouts Caught Beating Temple Elephant Into Submission
Video shows a Mahout mercilessly lashing a whip and beating up a temple elephant named Karnan. The video left people absolutely shocked heres what they had to say: There were no #blood involved training an animal to perform certain tasks. This training method at least ensures animals future. This is much better than killing n eating billions of #yummy animals daily with smile.
It's another gut-wrenching story of a voiceless creature being tortured at the hands of the 'most intelligent species' - humans.
Cases of animal cruelty are on the rise across the world and it's hard to fathom why some people feel no remorse when it comes to beating animals. And the cases get progressively worse. For years activists and animal lovers have fought to rescue elephants. These gentle giants face the worst of it.
More recently, a video that's going viral on Twitter, shows a Mahout mercilessly lashing a whip and beating up a temple elephant named Karnan.

Soon after the video went viral, an NGO named 'Voice for Asian Elephants Society' conducted an investigation and said, 'Mahouts were fired. The elephant has been transferred to Palakkad district, & is being monitored closely by the forest dept.'
@vfaes_org has investigated this story. Our founder has filed a complaint against owners & mahouts. A Case was booked by Trissur district forest officers. Mahouts were fired. The elephant has been transferred to Palakkad district, & is being monitored closely by the forest dept.

I wonder why they call it as ¡®God¡¯s own country¡¯! Damn them. When the same elephant becomes wild can they tolerate its wrath?!! They have first hand experience but still they ill treat it. Elephants have that memory of experience. That¡¯s why they become mad and behave like that

This incident comes after the death of an Indian elephant Flavia, who was kept in solitary confinement for 43 years of her life at Spain¡¯s Cordoba Zoo.
Flavia, suffered from depression and her health deteriorated. She was reportedly separated from her herd at the mere age of three and had been in captivity ever since.
