It was her lucky day! One woman in America mysteriously got a FedEx package with $20,000 worth of scratch-off lottery tickets inside. Her story is now shocking people on the internet.
Who Was The Lucky Woman?
Danielle Alexandrov, a Massachusetts native, was the lucky woman who received the loaded package.
What Happened?
Alexandrov told local station WCVB how it all went down. She said, ¡°I start going through the boxes, everything is normal until I get a box that is very heavy.¡± She added, ¡°I open it up, and it¡¯s a box of scratch tickets. And I¡¯m thinking, ¡®Is this a joke?¡¯ until I look at the receipt and its value is $20,000 worth of scratch tickets.¡±
Why Is It Not The Jackpot We All Think It Is?
Even though it might appear like a stroke of luck, the tickets hold no value until they're verified by an authorised seller.
A worker at the Massachusetts State Lottery told the outlet, ¡°These tickets until they¡¯re activated by a retail agent, there¡¯s really no value to them.¡±
They added, ¡°If someone tried to take one of these tickets if it was a winning ticket, brought it to a retail location, there would be a message that would flag it, and they¡¯d be unable to cash the ticket.¡±
How Did The Tickets End Up At The Wrong Address?
Originally, the tickets were intended for delivery to a store named Kenyon¡¯s Market located in Falmouth, a town in Cape Cod.
The woman eventually sent the tickets to the right address without trying to use them.
