The "Pushpak" reusable launch vehicle, nicknamed the "swadeshi space shuttle," achieved a significant milestone for ISRO by successfully conducting its second landing test. This SUV-sized winged rocket was dropped from an Air Force helicopter and autonomously approached the runway, making precise adjustments before landing using its brake parachute, landing gear brakes, and steering system. The project, inspired by the Ramayana's 'pushpak viman,' aims to make access to space more affordable. The government has invested over ?100 crore in this endeavor.
