It took a good amount of time and effort for Meesho to establish itself in India. The USP of this brand was that it offered fashion products on budget. It soared due to the prices that it offered as opposed to other e-commerce websites.

However, it now has a tough competition with e-commerce giant Amazon India as it has now launched a new vertical called ¡®Bazaar¡¯ which will offer affordable fashion products below Rs 600. The items up for grabs will include apparel, watches, shoes, jewellery and luggage among other things.

The new category is now available on Amazon India's Android application and is welcoming a variety of Indian companies that provide cost-effective products. The Bazaar platform, integrated within the Amazon app for Android, offers a diverse range of products. Users can explore clothing, accessories, jewelry, bags, shoes, traditional and modern attire, as well as home essentials such as kitchen tools, towels, bed sheets, and decorations.

As per reports, Amazon aims to target a specific segment of customers who prioritize purchasing affordable products over branded ones. This initiative might pose a challenge to Meesho, a platform that specializes in offering budget-friendly consumer products from local retailers.
