Padma Bhushan awardee and Mahindra Group chairperson Anand Mahindra is known for his penchant for spotting novel ideas, especially when it comes to startups. He has been quite vocal about all on his Twitter handle as well, with the recent tweet being no exception.
A couple of days ago, Anand Mahindra not only tweeted and lauded an IIT Madras backed 3D printing startup named Tvasta but even asked if there was any room for him to join in!
Been following developments in 3D printed homes overseas. Critical for India so delighted to see home-grown tech from IIT Madras (now one of the world¡¯s leading Tech-Incubators) I know you guys raised some seed funding, but any room for me to join in? pic.twitter.com/LXoZCMAwM8

So What Does This Startup Do?
As it can be seen from the video posted by Anand Mahindra, the startup Tvasta built India¡¯s first 3D printed house in 21 days.
It is an IIT-Madras Alumni startup created by three founders, who graduated in the year 2016.
They initially established the 3D Printing Club of IIT Madras in the Centre For Innovation (CFI) to build innovative products using 3D Printing and to spread awareness about this technology. After graduation, they founded Tvasta, which was born from the passion that these founders had for design and 3D printing. It was in fact their college¡¯s final year project that led them to vision Tvasta as a company that had the capabilities to deliver world class industrial 3D printing solutions.
Yesterday, the startup tweeted about its five-year journey.

Not The First Big Recognition For This Startup
This recognition by Anand Mahindra is not the first time this 3D printing start-up has been recognised, especially at a big level.
Tvasta was also recognised by the Government as the National Startup Awards 2021 winner in the Industry 4.0 sector under the 3D printing category.
And that's not all! Prior to this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also talked about this start-up in his Mann ki Baat episode in July 2021.
The Prime Minister said, ¡°Friends, when we are discussing technology, I want to point out another interesting subject. You must have recently read that a startup by an IIT Madras alumni has built a 3D printed house. Making a house through 3D printing? How was it possible?¡±
He further mentioned, ¡°Actually, the start-up first fed a 3D design in the 3D printer and then using a special concrete, fabricated a 3D structure, layer by layer. You will be happy to know that several such experiments are taking place throughout the country. There was a time when even minor constructions used to take a lot of time. Today, thanks to technology, things are changing in India¡±
Even back in April 2021, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman virtually inaugurated India¡¯s first 3D printed house constructed at IIT Madras Campus by Tvasta.
