Dogecoin Price Surges After 'Dogefather' Elon Musk Introduces His Pet Dog As New Twitter CEO

World's second richest person Elon Musk, who is also a self-proclaimed 'Dogefather,' introduced the ¡°new CEO¡± of Twitter in a tweet.

The new Twitter CEO is none other than Musk's pet dog Floki. Taking a dig at ex-Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, Elon Musk said the ¡°new CEO¡± is ¡°much better than that other guy¡±. For the uninitiated, Elon Musk had fired Twitter¡¯s Indian-origin CEO Parag Agrawal right after he took over Twitter in late October last year.

In a series of tweets early morning, the Twitter CEO shared photos of Floki seated at a table in the Twitter headquarters, dressed in an executive outfit. "The new CEO of Twitter is amazing," he tweeted.

Dogecoin Price Jumps After The Tweet

Musk's favourite crypto, Dogecoin's price jumped post this tweet. It was trading at $0.08291 just before the tweet today morning and then shot up nearly 5% to $0.8697 right after Musk's tweet that introduced his dog as Twitter CEO.

Musk has expressed his love for Dogecoin multiple times in the past few years, and had also mentioned that dogecoin is better than bitcoin.

"Will Resign As Soon As I Find Someone Foolish Enough"

In December last year, Elon Musk had said he will resign as Twitter CEO as soon as he finds ¡°someone foolish enough to take the job¡±. He was responding to the results of his Twitter poll which asked users whether he should step down as the head of Twitter.

The poll ended with the majority of Twitter users voting in favour of him stepping down.

Before this poll, Musk had also said that he does not want to be the CEO of any company. In November last year, Musk, who is the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter at present, made the comment during a testimony at a trial in the US.

"I frankly don't want to be the CEO of any company," he had said, adding "At SpaceX, it's really that I'm responsible for the engineering of the rockets and Tesla for the technology in the car that makes it successful. So, CEO is often viewed as somewhat of a business-focused role, but in reality, my role is much more that of an engineer developing technology and making sure that we develop breakthrough technologies and that we have a team of incredible engineers who can achieve those goals."
