Shantanu Narayen's Early Years
Born in 1963, Shantanu has an undergraduate degree in electronics engineering from the University College of Engineering, Osmania University in Hyderabad. He also has a master¡¯s degree in computer science from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, and an MBA from Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. He is also a board member of Pfizer and U.S.-India Business Council, and was named one of the world¡¯s best CEOs by Barron¡¯s magazine in 2016 and 2017.
The 60-year-old had become a recipient of India¡¯s civilian honour Padma Shri in the year 2019. As per the Hurun list, Shantanu Narayen had a net worth of Rs 3,800 crore in 2022.
Career Before & After Apple
Prior to finding success at Adobe, Shantanu was a product developer at Apple and co-founded a photo-sharing startup called Pictra.
Earlier, in 1986, Narayen joined a Silicon Valley start-up called Measurex Automation Systems, which made computer control systems for automotive and electronics customers.He then moved to Apple, where he was in different senior management positions from 1989 to 1995.
After Apple, he served as director of desktop and collaboration products for Silicon Graphics.In 1996 co-founded Pictra, a company that pioneered the concept of digital photo sharing over the Internet.

Became Software Giant Adobe's CEO In 2007
Shantanu had joined Adobe 25 years ago in 1998 as vice president and general manager of its engineering technology group. He became president and COO in 2005, CEO in 2007 and chairman of the board in 2017.
