From An Airport Cleaner To A Millionaire CEO, Meet Indian Techie Aamir Qutub
From working as airport cleaner, newspaper delivery guy to creating a million dollar business, 33 year old Indian techie Aamir Qutub's journey is inpisrational!
Indian techie Aamir Qutub grew up in a small town in UP called Aligarh and nurtured the dream of owning a business someday. He then moved to Australia about 10 years ago to study MBA from Deakin University, Geelong. He had got a scholarship for the first trimester.
As per a report in The Weekend Leader, Aamir had said ¡°I still needed money to survive and start my business. I didn¡¯t want to take money from my father as he had already funded Rs 5 lakh for my MBA.¡± Aamir reportedly applied to about 170 firms, but heard back from none of them.
Eventually, he got a job as a cleaner at an airport in Geelong, where he worked the 6 am to 6 pm shift, 4 days a week.
He reportedly quit the job three months later as the long hours and workdays affected his studies. He found another job to deliver newspapers, which began at 3 a.m. and got over by 8 a.m. giving him ample time to focus on his studies.
The report mentioned that Aamir continued to look for opportunities and landed an internship at an IT firm, where he prepared a full business model report for the company. His second internship was at ICT Geelong, another IT firm, where he bagged a job as an operation manager at a salary of AUD 5,000.
He reportedly worked directly under the general manager, who quit about a year and a half later leaving a vacancy in the company. Aamir was appointed interim GM and he impressed the company¡¯s board with his work.
By this time he had completed his MBA and he was made permanent GM. At 25, he reportedly became the youngest GM of the company. ¡°Within a year the revenue of the company increased 300%,¡± shares Aamir.
In 2014, while still working at ICT Geelong - he started his business venture Enterprise Monkey Proprietor Ltd, investing AUD 4,000 from his saving, as per the report.
CEO Aamir¡¯s company Enterprise Monkey is a web and app development company based in Melbourne and Geelong.
Aamir has gone on to grow his business and even reportedly won the Australian Young Business Leader of the Year award.
His business reportedly achieved AUD 2 million (approximately Rs 12 crore) turnover in just five years since launch. It reportedly now has a presence in four countries.

Not forgetting his roots, 33YO Aamir has reportedly set up Aamir Qutub Foundation in Aligarh to encourage people to opt for entrepreneurship.
Aamir was also reportedly appointed as a member of the Geelong Authority by the Minister of Planning and is the founding Secretary of Pivot Summit, an international digital conference.
In 2020, amidst the Covid-19 lockdowns, Aamir Qutub also created and co-founded Angel Next Door, a free online platform for community members around Australia to offer or seek help from people in their neighbourhood, discreetly and securely.
