At a time when Amazon shares are riding high with a more than 15% jump already this year, it seems that the e-commerce giant's founder is ready to cash in on the boom. Amazon has disclosed a big move whose announcement itself has taken its founder Jeff Bezos on the brink of becoming world's richest person.
Jeff Bezos To Sell 50 Million Amazon Shares
World's second richest person Jeff Bezos, who had founded Amazon in the year 1994, is planning to sell up to 50 million shares of the e-commerce giant. The billionaire plans to do so by January 2025.
According to a stock exchange filing on Friday, 60-year-old Jeff Bezos has adopted a trading plan to sell 50 million shares at any time before January 31st next year. As of now, those 50 million would be valued at approximately $8.6 billion.
In the event that Bezos goes ahead with his plan, it will be his first Amazon stock sale since 2021.
