1. A purse on the floor is money out of the door
Originated in China, this superstition says that since people usually carry their important items like money, credit cards, etc in their wallet/purse, placing that on the floor indicates disrespect towards those things and disregard for your money as well as wealth. An old Chinese proverb says that a purse on the floor is money out of the door! So believe it or not, but you can always avoid keeping your wallet/purse on the ground just to keep it clean at least!
2. Hammering a coin into fallen trees can ¡®grow¡¯ your money
Who says money doesn't grow on trees? This superstition says it can! Not quite literally, but, the saying is from a village of Portmeirion in North Wales. As per a centuries-old tradition there, hammering coins into a downed/fallen tree can bring good luck and financial fortune.
3. Ringing in the New Year with cash in hand attracts prosperity
Originating in Latin America, this superstition says that before midnight on 31st December, grabbing some cash (preferably from your own wallet or account) in your hand till the time clock strikes 12 (new year), can ensure economic prosperity in the coming new year. Certainly seems doable right? So why not try this in the upcoming new year, and who knows, it can turn out to work for you!
4. Bird droppings are a good luck sign
This may sound yuck, but bird droppings are indeed seen as a good luck sign. Originating in Turkey, this superstition says getting pooped on by a bird is a symbol of good things to come. In fact its even a tradition to buy lottery ticket on the same day it happens! Who knows, you might be the next lottery winner. So, the next time a bird makes you a part of its target practice, take it as a positive sign, no matter how disgusted you may feel!
