Tata Group Companies' Combined Revenue Crosses Rs 10 Lakh Crore Mark For The First Time Ever

Spearheaded by Tata Motors and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the combined revenue of the Tata group¡¯s key listed firms crossed the Rs 10-trillion mark for the first time, in FY2022-23.

The Tata group¡¯s 14 key listed companies in which parent company Tata Sons holds a direct equity stake, reported a combined revenue of Rs 10.07 trillion in FY23, up 15.3% from Rs 8.73 trillion in FY22.

The combined net profit of these companies was, however, down 10.6 per cent year-on-year (YoY) at Rs 66,670 crore in FY23, from a record high of Rs 74,540 crore in the previous financial year, when the profit had jumped 156 per cent YoY, aided by Tata Steel¡¯s strong showing, as per Business Standard.

IT giant TCS had reported Rs 59,162 crore revenue in Q4 (Jan-March 2023 quarter), whereas Tata motors had posted Rs 105,932 crore (Rs 1.05 lakh crore) for the same period.

Tata Motors 8th Indian Company To Hit Rs 1 Trillion Revenue Mark

Tata Motors recorded its highest-ever quarterly revenue and became Tata Group¡¯s first firm to hit Rs 1 trillion (Rs 1 lakh crore) revenue mark. The automaker major has also become the second private company and the eighth overall, to hit the milestone of Rs 1 lakh crore in revenue.

Currently, there are only seven other firms that boast quarterly revenues of over Rs 1 lakh crore in the listed space, as per CNBC. Other Indian firms with over Rs 1 lakh crore in quarterly revenue include Reliance Industries, Indian Oil Corporation, LIC, ONGC, BPCL, and HPCL.

If all the listed Tata group companies are seen as a single business entity, it would reportedly be the 64th-biggest corporation globally with revenue of $125 billion.

As per Tata Group¡¯s website, it has 17 listed companies in total, as of now. After TCS¡¯ IPO in 2004, Tata Group is planning to launch an IPO of Tata Technologies and Tata Play likely this year.
