Raised by Errol Musk and Maye Musk, the three siblings Elon, Kimbal and Tosca Musk are all established in their own businesses. Tosca co-founded a streaming service, while Kimbal is the owner of a collection of restaurants.
Elon, Tosca And Kimbal Seldom Discuss Business But Tosca Asks Him For Business Advice Occasionally!
In a conversation with CNN, Tosca disclosed that while she, Elon, and Kimbal occasionally seek each other's input on business matters, they make an effort to primarily focus their discussions on family-related topics.
¡°I get advice from them to a certain degree when I ask for it. But no unsolicited advice. If I ask for advice, I have no doubt that [Elon] will give it to me. And then I have to take it, because he¡¯s going to be right. So you have to really want to know what you want to ask. But most of the time when I¡¯m with my family, we talk about family things.¡±
When addressing doubts, Tosca conveyed to The Sunday Times that the siblings maintain confidence in their ideas, even in the face of skepticism regarding the potential failure of their ventures.
¡°That¡¯s probably [true of] everybody in our family. If we say we¡¯re going to do something, just believe us, we¡¯re going to do it,¡± she said. ¡°A lot of people will say things are not going to work because they aren¡¯t used to taking risks. With us, it¡¯s like, well, no one¡¯s done it before. Doesn¡¯t mean it can¡¯t be done.¡±

Elon And His Siblings Grew Up In South Africa But Post Their Parents¡¯ Divorce, Elon Moved In With His Father
Elon, Kimbal, and Tosca were brought up by their parents, Errol and Maye, in Pretoria, South Africa. The trio shared the same household until their parents' divorce in 1979, following which Elon went to live with his father.
¡°I felt sorry for my father, because my mother had all three kids. He seemed very sad and lonely by himself. So I thought, ¡®I can be company,' ¡± Elon told Rolling Stone. ¡°Yeah, I was sad for my father. But I didn¡¯t really understand at the time what kind of person he was. It was not a good idea.¡±
Tosca Is The Co-founder Of A Streaming Service And Production Company
Tosca Musk serves as the co-founder and CEO of Passionflix, a streaming service and production company specializing in adapting romance novels into films. In an interview with CNN, Tosca shared that she and her co-founder, Joany Kane, had to actively seek out investors and persuade them of the platform's potential..
¡°Trying to raise money for a female-driven platform on romance was just not high on anybody¡¯s priority list at the time,¡± she said. ¡°But as soon as we showed there was that many people that would come on board, the investors just started flying in.¡±
Tosca Musk earned her bachelor's degree in film from the University of British Columbia. Prior to founding Passionflix, she produced romance films for renowned channels such as Lifetime and Hallmark.

Kimbal Musk Is A Chef And Entrepreneur
While Kimbal serves as a board member at Tesla and SpaceX, his primary passion lies within the food industry. In 2001, he attended the French Culinary Institute, and three years later, he co-founded a restaurant called The Kitchen alongside chef Hugo Matheson in Boulder, Colorado, as reported by The New York Times.
In an interview with The Guardian, Kimbal Musk expressed his enduring love for food, noting that he has always enjoyed cooking for his loved ones.
¡°Growing up, I cooked in the house, and when I cooked everyone would sit down and eat, and it was just kind of the way I connected with my family. I used to throw cooking parties in university. Everyone would come over ¡ª sometimes you¡¯d just do a mac and cheese, but if you do that better than everyone else you can get people to come to you.¡±
Prior to his involvement in the food industry, Kimbal Musk worked in the tech sector as the co-founder of the online city guide platform Zip2.
Alongside his brother Elon, they sold Zip2 in 1999 for $307 million. Since transitioning to the food industry, Kimbal has also co-founded two other companies.
Kimbal Musk initiated Big Green in 2011, a nonprofit organization dedicated to constructing outdoor "learning gardens" in schools. Additionally, in 2016, Kimbal founded Square Roots, an urban indoor farming company. However, according to Business Insider, the company closed down the majority of its locations in July 2023.

Tosca shared with The Sunday Times that she and her siblings enjoyed a close relationship during their childhood, and despite residing in different cities as adults, they have managed to uphold their strong bond.
¡°I don¡¯t know if they¡¯ll agree with me but I think we share a lot of characteristics. We certainly enjoy each other¡¯s company. We try to see each other as often as possible. Kimbal¡¯s a chef so he¡¯ll cook dinner. Normally, we¡¯re just hanging around the table and having a chat and laughing,¡± she said.
Kimbal has attributed their mother as the driving force behind the siblings' enduring closeness throughout the years.
¡°We¡¯ve come a long way from a small town in Africa. ?? thank you Ma for always working to keep us together,¡± he wrote on Instagram alongside a family photo from his wedding.
Both Kimbal And Tosca Are Proud Of Their Elder Brother Elon Musk
Elon's siblings take immense pride in his achievements in the tech industry. Tosca mentioned to The Sunday Times that her children struggle to comprehend why people would make negative remarks about Elon, but she is always eager to commend her older brother.
"I'm incredibly proud of my older brother. He is a phenomenon"He's exceptional in so many ways and his goals to help humanity are beyond anything that anybody can imagine. So there's no taint at all."
In May 2020, Kimbal conveyed his admiration for Elon following SpaceX's successful launch of two NASA astronauts into space, marking the company's inaugural crewed mission.
