Warren Buffett¡¯s Wife Astrid Buffett Complains About $4 Coffee
In a recent incident, the world¡¯s seventh richest person Warren Buffett¡¯s wife Astrid Buffett was overheard complaining to a resort¡¯s employees about the price of coffee at Allen & Co's annual event in Sun Valley, Idaho, which is also known as ¡®billionaire¡¯s summer camp¡¯.
92-year-old Warren Buffett¡¯s 77-year-old wife Astrid Buffett was heard complaining about having to pay $4 for a cup of coffee. Buffett's wife said she "could get a pound of coffee" for the same price elsewhere, as per the New York Post.
Warren Buffett, who is the Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, has a net worth of $114 billion and is the seventh-richest person in the world on Bloomberg's Billionaires Index. But the Oracle of Omaha also has been known to be frugal.

Warren Buffett and his second wife, Astrid, have been married since 2006. Astrid Buffett, previously Astrid Menks, was working as a waitress at the French Cafe in Omaha when she first met the billionaire's first wife, which is how she became acquainted with Warren.
Buffett's second wife Astrid is originally from Latvia, a small country that lies on the shores of the Baltic Sea right between Lithuania and Estonia. Warren Buffett and Astrid got married on August 30th, 2006, which was the billionaire's 76th birthday.
Warren Buffett was previously married to his first wife Susan Buffett from 1952-2004. She was an American activist who advocated for civil rights, abortion rights and birth control. She died in 2004.

Despite being a billionaire, Warren Buffett is known to live a simple life. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, a longtime friend of 92-year-old Buffett, had once recalled the billionaire pulling out a handful of coupons to pay for a McDonald's meal.
And unlike many billionaires who live in luxurious homes, Buffett's home is relatively understated: He lives in the same home in Omaha that he bought in 1958 for about $31,500. Perhaps that's why the $4 coffee was apparently such a shock for his wife Astrid Buffett.
Back in Sun Valley, $4 is the cheapest coffee available at the resort's cafe, Konditorei, which serves pastries, coffee, and brunch, according to its website. It is one of a handful of restaurants at the resort in Sun Valley that are accommodating some of the most powerful people in the world for the annual summit.
While resorts are often known for offering expensive food options, US coffee shops reportedly charge an average of $4.90 for a cup of coffee, according to NPD Group data, a Business Insider report mentioned. Meanwhile, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics places the average cost for a pound of coffee at about $6.09.
