Tekka OTT Release Update: Dev recently headlined a thrilling film which arrived in theatres on 8th October. Loosely based on Bhaskar Chattopadhyay¡¯s story chronicling 2022¡¯s West Bengal School Service Commission recruitment scam, the actioner emerged as the 2nd highest-grossing Bengali film of 2024. The saga is now ready for OTT. Tekka will be streaming on Hoichoi on December 27, 2024.
Tekka plot summary
The plot revolves around Iqlakh, a poor janitor who loses his job and is angry at how the rich treat the poor. Feeling desperate and overlooked, he kidnaps a schoolgirl named Avantika and takes her hostage in an office building, demanding his old job back instead of money. ACP Maya, who is dealing with pain from IVF treatment, is assigned to handle the situation.
The situation takes a new turn when Avantika¡¯s mother kidnaps Iqlakh¡¯s son, Guddu, to force him to release her daughter. With the help of a young journalist, Brishti, and a cameraman named Tintin, they secretly film the events and send Iqlakh a video warning him that whatever happens to Avantika will happen to his son. The story turns into a tense 48-hour standoff, as the police and special forces work together to save the girl and end the hostage situation.

Co-written and directed by Srijit Mukherji, Tekka has been produced by Gurupada Adhikari and Dev under the banner of Dev Entertainment Ventures. It also stars Swastika Mukherjee, Rukmini Maitra, Paran Bandopadhyay, Aameya, Aryann Bhowmik, Sreeja Dutta, Lokenath Dey, Kamaleswar Mukherjee, Sujan Neel Mukherjee and Anujoy Chatterjee in key roles.
Seasoned actors like Kaushik Sen, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Sudeshna Roy and Srijit Mukherji appear in special appearances. Ranajoy Bhattacharjee composed the music of Tekka with background score by Diptarka Bose and lyrics by Suman and Bhattacharjee. While Modhura Palit handled the cinematography, Pranoy Dasgupta edited this thrilling saga distributed by PVR Inox Pictures.
