Former wrestler John "Bradshaw" Layfield (JBL) has opened up about the allegations late Ashley Massaro made against WWE and its then-Chairman Vince McMahon, before her death in 2019. Speaking to Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard, JBL, one of the most influential members of the WWE locker room of his time, said he didn¡¯t hear about the incident and did not know what happened.

I don¡¯t doubt anything: JBL
¡°They¡¯re horrific allegations, and I hope they weren¡¯t true. I have no idea if they were true or not. I don¡¯t doubt Ashley at all, by the way. I had no idea. I didn¡¯t hear [about it] on the tour, but that¡¯s not something that you would probably hear about, unless somebody had witnessed it or something. So I don¡¯t know. I wish I could give you a better answer, but I didn¡¯t hear any of it. I hope that it¡¯s not true, but I don¡¯t doubt Ashley. I don¡¯t doubt anything that was said. I have no idea what happened," JBL said.

Earlier this year, Vice News had published a previously unreleased statement made by Massaro, in which she accused McMahon of 'sexually preying' on female performers and 'ruining her reputation' after she rejected his advances.

In 2016, she joined a class-action lawsuit against the wrestling giant, 'alleging that the company concealed risks of injury that caused them neurological damage.' Massaro had also alleged that she was sexually assaulted in Kuwait during a WWE event at an American military base, which her employer at the time wanted to cover up in fear of it affecting
