Jammu & Kashmir Winter Vacation 2024: Holidays start from 10th December onwards
Schools in the winter zones of Jammu and Kashmir Valley will begin their winter breaks on December 10, 2024. Classes 6¨C12 will have vacation time from December 16 to February 28, 2025, while students in class 5 will have vacation time till February 28.
Jammu and Kashmir Winter Vacation Starts From 5th December, 2024: The winter holiday schedule for schools in the Kashmir valley and the winter zone areas of the Jammu division has been formally issued by the Department of School Education in Jammu and Kashmir. Sakina Itoo, the Minister of School Education, made the news by sharing the official order on X, which confirmed the vacation dates and rules. The government has given teaching personnel detailed instructions to confirm that the academic calendar is disrupted as little as possible. By February 10, 2025, teachers at government high schools and upper secondary institutions must report back to their offices. The goal of this instruction is to prepare for the upcoming board exams for classes 10, 11, and 12.

Based on the student's class levels, the winter break has been split into two categories:
- The winter break for pupils in Class 5 will start on December 10, 2024, and go through February 28, 2025. Younger pupils may stay indoors and avoid the bitterly cold weather that is typical of the area, thanks to this prolonged break.
- Students in Classes 6 through 12: The older students' vacation will start a little later, on December 16, 2024, and end on February 28, 2025. This phased timetable aids in striking a balance between weather-related difficulties and academic obligations.
