The latest Aston Martin, formerly identified as AM-RB 003, now has an official name straight from Norse mythology. Aston Martin ¡®Valhalla¡¯, as it has been named, is the latest hypercar by the British luxury sports car manufacturer and comes as a result of its partnership with Red Bull Advanced Technologies and Adrian Newey.
Fancy name, right? It has an equally majestic meaning. The literal translation of Valhalla is ¡®the hall of the fallen¡¯ and in Norse mythology, it is described as an enormous and majestic hall in Asgard, one of the Nine Realms. ¡°A warrior's paradise, it is here that the souls of those who are slain in battle go, chosen and guided by the Valkyries,¡± Aston Martin describes it. ¡°Valkyries¡±? Ring any bells?

That¡¯s because the Valhalla is more or less the baby brother of Aston Martin Valkyrie. A lightweight built thanks to carbon fibre, state-of-the-art aerodynamics, a turbocharged V6 petrol engine and a battery-electric hybrid system are the highlights of the new Aston Martin hypercar. The company has not announced the performance numbers for the vehicle for now, though it has mentioned that it will be building only 500 units of it.
With the Valhalla, Aston Martin also continues its lineage of ¡®V¡¯ named cars, a tradition it has been practising?since the last seven decades for its most successful series of cars ever. Valkyrie, Vanquish, Vantage, Volante are all examples of that.

Simultaneously, the company is also working on its first ever electric sports car - the Rapide E. Unveiled at this year¡¯s Shanghai Auto Show, the electric car is powered by an 800-volt, 65kWh battery. Aston Martin estimates that the Rapide E will be able to travel over 320 km on a single charge.
Interestingly, Aston Martin had at the time confirmed that the Rapide E will be featured in the next James Bond movie, with the 007 driving an emission free vehicle for the first time ever. Following the announcement of the Valhalla, the new hypercar has already made its way into the next Bond movie.?
