It has been anticipated for long and confirmed last year. And now it has made its first appearance. Yes, we are talking about the SUV that was promised from the house of Ferrari. Spy shots of the vehicle have made their way online and the internet just can¡¯t keep calm!
It has been time since Ferrari¡¯s first ever SUV was promised to compete with that of the Italian luxury sports car maker¡¯s arch rival, Lamborghini Urus. Renders of the car have also made their way online and if the upcoming Ferrari offering looks anything like it, there is a reason why people are losing their minds over it already.
The project is termed Purosangue, set to make its appearance in the market by 2022. Though it is an SUV (or at least looks exactly like one), Ferrari bosses do not really appreciate the term and would rather go for a title that is a lot more intimidating, something that was seen with the GTC4Lusso with Ferrari calling it a 2+2 Grand Tourer instead of a straight up hatchback.

SUV or not, some features of the Ferrari Purosangue have been confirmed through the spy shots and they all point back to it being an SUV, including an elevated ground clearance and a front engine.
The Purosangue that was spotted had been camouflaged by the company with a GTC4Lusso's body, evident from the space left above the wheels. Due to camouflage, not much of the car can be seen but since we are talking about a Ferrari make, it will unquestionably be an eye candy.

Under The Hood
Ferrari is not really bothered about coming in late to the super luxury SUV segment because when it does, the Purosangue ¡°will be the best in the segment¡±. The bold claim seems just as true for a simple fact, Ferrari has three engines to choose from - a V12 engine, a 3.8L twin-turbocharged V8 engine and a newly developed 2.9L twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid engine.
Know this, all of these engines are able to produce more power than the Lamborghini Urus¡¯ 641hp. Ferrari might not have to go for the V12, so it is expected to use the 3.8L twin-turbocharged V8 engine for the Purosangue, churning out a cool 710hp and 770Nm of torque, more than what an SUV can ask for. We can also expect AWD on the SUV.
Price
The Lamborghini Urus is available for a cool price tag of $200,000. Considering the Purosangue will make its debut as ¡°the best in class¡±, we can expect it to cost a tad bit more than the Lamborghini offering. But what difference will it make to those who can afford it, right?
