Winters used to mean shorter days spent,?well, having snowball fights and then making peace while raising big mugs of hot cocoa milk and warm marshmallows. But we aren¡¯t kids any longer and we definitely don't have snowball fights anymore. So should that mean this is the end of fun? NO. Not having snowball fights in the courtyards doesn¡¯t mean we can¡¯t still go outside and play! When you live in the United States of America, ¡®outside¡¯ is endless and play is infinite.
Whether it¡¯s enjoying nature or indulging in winter sports, there are a ton of things we can do across the country to have fun this winter. Here are a few:
A winter visit to Arizona¡¯s Grand Canyon is the best way to avoid crowds, spot the national park¡¯s elusive wildlife, and enjoy festive activities organized by nearby businesses - as good as a winter wonderland! Did I tell you, you could enjoy nature and avoid people?
If you¡¯re looking for some winter fun in California, stop right at Mount Baldy! Not only will you get to snowboard and ski on the ice-topped mountain, the views of the San Gabriel Mountains and the Angeles National Forest is to die for!
The Winter Village at Bryant Park features a massive rink which has a free admission policy in New York.?Rent a pair of skates, or kick back and watch a speciality skating show.
In winter, one can experience Yellowstone¡¯s canyons, woods and hydrothermal forces at an intimate level. Spotting elks, bison, wolves and other animals against the snowy background is rather easy and the contrasts of the clear blue skies and steamy geysers provide for picture-perfect moments.
Thanks to its proximity to the North Pole, and the lack of urban light pollution, Alaska provides the best-isolated area to take in the Aurora Borealis. Watch the green ribbons of light come to life in the crystalline skies.
Go underground into the local caves in this part of California, where the air hovers at the freezing point year-round and see the freaky ice formations beneath the Earth. To safely journey into the caves at Lava Beds National Monument, rent a helmet and headlamp from the visitors' centre.?
New Mexico experiences more than 300 days of sunshine a year and is home to five national forests, and 17 national parks and monuments. Loosen up your muscles in soothing geothermal mineral springs, or indulge in Native American-inspired spa treatments after enjoying the oasis of adventures here.?
And the best way to get to get on these journeys is in Toyota RAV4 Adventure Grade, the car designed to be your companion in your adventures! The Adventure model wears a racing stripe, has enlarged fender flares, black 18-inch alloy wheels, additional lower-body cladding and metallic-looking plastic plates on all four sides. The car comes with a suite of exceptional state-of-the-art safety equipment- Toyota Safety Sense. This active safety technology includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Auto High Beams, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Basically, in this car, you're safe, and your adventures are unlimited!
My bucket list for the winters is set. What about you?
