Anu Malik, one of the judges of singing reality TV show Indian Idol made waves for all the wrong reasons when he was accused of sexual harassment last year. Post #MeToo allegations, he was fired from the show, and now according to the grapevine, the channel and showrunners are eyeing to have him back for the next season.
Anu Malik was accused of sexual harassment by singer Shweta Pandit, who had called him a pedophile. She said that she was assaulted by the music composer-singer when she was 15. Anu Malik had allegedly asked her for a kiss. Later, two more women accused him of sexual misconduct.
Anu Malik, at that time, had denied all the allegations through his lawyer who had also said that the #MeToo movement was being used for his clientĄ¯s character assassination. Owing to the allegations, the channel had replaced him with Javed Ali.
Now, as per a report in Spotboye.com, talks between him and the channel are on, and Malik will most likely return on Indian Idol 11.
