Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness released in theatres on May 6 and the film got a great start at Indian box offices by collecting over Rs 25 crore on its opening day. The film is set in the aftermath of Spiderman: No Way Home as well as the events in series Wanda Vision.?
The character of Doctor Strange was created in the 1960s by Stephen J Dikto and Stan Lee. In the films, we first met the epic sorcerer in 2016 in the film titled Doctor Strange. Benedict Cumberbatch plays the titular role in the film and is introduced as a surgeon who is looking for a cure for his hands after an accident. He travels to Kathmandu and ends up at the Kamar Taj, where he seeks to heal his hands. After initial struggles, he becomes one of the favourite students of the Ancient One and learns about astral travel, different dimensions, dark magic, and whatnot. He also finds his magic relic, the signature red cape that saves his life on more than one occasions.?
We also see Dr Strange carrying the precious time stone as part of his neckpiece.?
Dr Strange is first seen fighting along with the Avengers in 2018 film Infinity War. He is seen as the protector of the Time Stone, which he ultimately has to surrender to Thanos in order to save Iron Man.?
In Avengers: Endgame, it is Doctor Strange who is the first one to know about the cost of saving half of the earth's population- Iron Man's life. And what happens in the last scene is something that gets all Marvel fans teary-eyed till date.?
Strange has a sense of mystery and aura around him the moment he enters the screen. Before Multiverse Of Madness, Dr Strange was seen in Spiderman: No Way Home.
In the film, Peter Parket requests Doctor Strange to make everyone forget that he is Spiderman. However, since Dr Strange no longer has access to the Time Stone, he begins casting a spell to fulfil Peter's request.?
Towards the end of the film,?Spiderman succeeds in defeating all villains (and curing some) and asks Dr Strange to cast yet another spell so that everyone would forget who Peter Parker is. However, casting all these spells leads to the Multiverse door being opened which paves the way for Doctor Strange's second standalone film, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.?
