Bobby Deol Insists His Sons To Learn Proper Hindi, Internet Feels Its A Dig At The Archies
Bobby Deol talked about his sons Aryaman and Dharam, who aspire to make their film debuts in the future. Bobby gave them some advice, saying that since children these days only speak English, they should start by learning Hindi.?
Bobby told Filmcompanion, ¡°That¡¯s the most important thing for an actor. I meet young kids and I keep telling them that you¡¯ve to really be prepared. Like my sons, they want to be actors, and I keep telling them ki first apni Hindi theek karo. Hindi theek se nahi bolte kyuki aadat nahi hai na. Sab angrezi bolte hain ek doosre se (They are not used to talking in Hindi, they all talk to each other in English). I think, once you have command over your lines, you don¡¯t have to think anything. You just have to feel the character.¡±
Although Bobby did not name any new-gen actor, people think it could be a dig at The Archies Cast.
A Reddit thread talks about the same and reacting to it, one wrote, ¡°Don¡¯t think he meant it as a dig but it¡¯s a worthy statement. How these kids don¡¯t speak good hindi living in India is very bizarre.¡±
Another added, ¡°What's with the obsession of talking to your kids in English. Why not teach them your native or Hindi language jab unko kaam Bollywood/cinema mein hi karna hai?¡±
A third went on to add, ¡°I think it has a lot to do with the identity crisis and seeing English as superior to vernacular languages like Hindi and Marathi.I believe that you should speak the language of your motherland proudly because it's a part of who you are.
Bobby's sons Bollywood debut
Bobby had already announced that he and his sons, Dharam and Aryaman, were keen on becoming a part of showbiz.
He told India Today, ¡°There¡¯s no business like show business and my sons will come into this industry, but they¡¯re too young right now especially my older one is just 22 years old and the younger one is 19 years, so another 3-4 years time they will enter the industry.¡±
