Kriti Sanon and Kajol's mystery thriller Do Patti is streaming on Netflix. If you have already watched the film and still cannot get through what exactly happened in the end, here's an ending explained. But mind you, there are spoilers too for those who have not watched it:
The film that has Kajol as a cop named Vidya Jyoti, aka VJ, and Kriti Sanon in a double role of two twin sisters Saumya and Shailee is a mystery thriller that revolves around how the sisters grew up in a competitive environment. Brought up by an aunt who they called Maaji, the actual story begins when one of the sisters, Saumya, falls in love with a boy named Dhruv. Dhruv basically belonged to Haryana, who came to the hills to establish his paragliding business.
Saumya, who started falling for Dhruv in the first few days of their friendship, was taken aback when her twin sister Shailee arrived in the scene, and Dhruv's attention now gets divided.
The twin sister to Saumya, Shailee, was better than her in terms of expressing herself, which attracted Dhruv, but he changed his mind after realising that Shailee is not homely and he wanted to get married to a simple girl, so he eventually proposes Saumya for marriage.?
Dhruv and Saumya finally get married, and Shailee gets out of the scene for a while. After a few months of living together, Saumya realises that Dhruv has anger issues and is a domestic violence offender just like her father.
Maaji even tries to file a police complaint against Dhruv, but unfortunately, because of the lack of evidence, she was never really able to do it. That's when Kajol, as a lady police officer who had also studied law, comes into the scene.
Kajol took it personally and wanted to investigate the case personally, but she was not able to do anything against Dhruv as he belonged to a powerful family and the police had no evidence against him.
Meanwhile, Saumya, who gets fed up of being a domestic violence victim, also now wanted to save her life from Dhruv. Saumya one day decides she will ask Dhruv to start all over again and give their marriage a chance. She asks him to take her paraglyding on Holi as they used to do before marriage. The moment they go for the sport in the air, Saumya starts shouting for help mid-air and later claims that Dhruv wanted to kill her.?
Upon filing a case of attempt to murder against Dhruv, Kajol gets Dhruv a sentence of 13 years via court. While Kajol's police station staff celebrates her success, Kajol still thinks the case was too easy, and there must be something that the twin sisters and their Maaji are hiding.

Upon investigating further, the lady police got to know that all this attempt to murder was a plan. The twin sisters, in order to arrange proof against Dhruv, created fake circumstances so that they could prove Dhruv guilty.?
Kajol, upon learning all the truth, wanted to reopen the case and even reaches court after appealing but changes her mind as she also believed that Dhruv deserved this because he used to beat Saumya anyway.
