House Of The Dragon Ep 7 Ending Explained; Fans Swoon Over The Most-Awaited Wedding #Daemyra
Are you one of those who go into a deep trance after watching a new episode of House Of The Dragon every week? No, just me then? Well, it’s practically impossible for a show to be this good. Just when you think that it can’t get better than this, House Of The Dragon makers outdo themselves with every new episode.?
Episode 7 Driftmark had so much happening all at once that the rush of adrenaline feels phenomenal. With the latest episode, we are much closer to the Dance Of The Dragons. Interestingly, the timeline jump took place in the previous episode but it feels like the new Rhaenyra and Alicent have been around for much longer. The way they have made the characters their own in the span of just two episodes is commendable.?
Driftmark solidifies the divide between Team Blacks and Greens even more.

The episode opens to the grim funeral of Laena Velaryon who couldn’t survive childbirth and chose to meet her gods on her own terms. The ceremony is dreadful and there is immense sadness around.?
Soon enough, the episode takes a wild turn when Rhaenyra approaches her beloved uncle to accuse him of abandoning her. Soon things turn hot and heavy and the duo finally do the impending dance that had been teased more than a decade ago.?
Parallely, the kids get into a brawl after Aemond steals the biggest dragon in King’s Landing - Vhagar. Baela and Rhaena become furious as Vhagar was their deceased mother’s dragon and should have been rightfully passed to them.?
They gather their cousins Luke and Jace (Rhaenyra’s sons) and thus begin a fighting match between the young ones. Aemond pays the price of his claim with his eye. Furthermore, this brawl becomes a turning point for the entire family as fangs come out and all the niceties go to dust.

Aemond pacifies his scornful mother when he reveals his achievement and calls it a small price for such a monumental claim. The reunion between the uncle and niece and the latest turn of events bring Rhaenyra on her toes as she now has to plan ahead for the impending war. She proposes marriage to her uncle who tells her that it can’t happen as long as her husband is alive. Just when we assume the worst, the makers bring the biggest twist till date, going against George RR Martin’s book.

"I cannot face the greens alone.Let us bind our blood, just as Aegon the Conqueror did with his sisters. With you as my husband and prince consort, my claim would not be so easily challenged," Rhaenyra to her beloved uncle Daemon.??
However, Daemon refuses her proposal as he says that they can’t tie the knot as long as Laenor is alive.
At this point, most of us were internally screaming and hating on these two as we all knew what it meant - removal of the obstruction!
Cut to Daemon, who dons the same black killing cloak that he had on before killing his ex wife Lady Royce. Only this time, there’s no blood, only bribery to be offered. He strikes a deal with Ser Qarl (Laenor’s lover) to stage the public death of Ser Laenor in exchange for gold and freedom for the two.?
Soon enough, we see Qarl storming into the Driftmark castle and challenging Ser Laenor to a swordfight. A nervous servant who was accompanying Laenor runs to get Lord Corlys and the castle guards. When the party arrives, Laenor is shown burning in the fireplace.?
Princess Rhaenys howls over the burnt body of her dead son.
"I love Laenor," we hear Rhaenyra say in the background. "Then grant him this kindness," Daemon says, "set him free."?
This is followed by the beautiful wedding and then comes the most important shot - a hooded figure running towards a boat on Driftmark’s coastline. We see Qarl onboard the board, that’s when the man reveals his identity by taking off his cloak - Voila! It's Laenor with a freshly shaved head. Unlike the book, HOTD makers spared his life probably because he will play a major role during the civil war.
?One dragon lost equals the most awaited wedding. While losing Vhagar is definitely a big setback, we see Daemon finally tying the knot with Princess Rhaenyra which further strengthens her side. The wedding ceremony is conducted in the presence of her sons and his daughters in true Valaryian style.
