Panjab '95 OTT release details: This movie, based on the life of prominent human rights activist Jaswant Singh Kalra and starring singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh in the lead role, is set to hit theatres on February 7th. After its theatrical run, Panjab '95 will be available for streaming on Zee5, according to OTTPlay. The release date for its online streaming has yet to be announced.
Panjab '95 portrays the life of Jaswant Singh Khalra, a brave individual who uncovered the truth behind 25,000 illegal killings, disappearances, and covert cremations carried out by the Punjab Police.?
The movie is expected to highlight his relentless battle for justice, leading up to his abduction, torture, and eventual murder by the same force.
Punjabi actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh shared a teaser of the film on his social media platforms, writing, "Full Movie, No Cuts," along with the hashtag #ChallengetheDarkness.
The teaser opens with a powerful statement from Arjun Rampal's character: "Look at the history of Punjab, sir. Be it the dispute over its rivers or the operation Bluestar, Indira Gandhi's assassination or the riots of 1984, from President's rule to the chief minister¡¯s assassination and now¡ why is Punjab suffering?"
As the teaser progresses, we are introduced to Diljit Dosanjh as Jaswant Singh Khalra, a determined Sikh rights activist who embarks on a mission to investigate the mysterious disappearance of Sukhdev Singh.?
The scene depicts Dosanjh's character taking photos and digging deeper into the case, putting his life at risk in his quest for justice.
Directed by Bhaumikkumar Prakashbhai Prajapati, Honey Trehan, and Vishal Srivastava, Panjab '95 has been written by Niren Bhatt, Utsav Maitra and Honey Trehan.
