In response to criticism of her most recent film, "Cuttputlli," which stars Akshay Kumar, actress Rakul Preet Singh has spoken out.
Although many people have applauded the murder mystery Cuttputlli, several have also noted how the romance subplot involving Akshay and Rakul might have been avoided by the producers because it added nothing to the plot.
Rakul responded to charges that romance in "Cuttputlli" almost subdued the suspense of the mystery thriller in an interview with the Indian Express.
The actress said, ¡°There is a certain section of the audience that enjoys romance, song and dance. We have made this film for families. Indian films are known for the quintessential masala.¡±
She further stated, ¡°Today if you say that Telugu cinema is doing well, it is a masala that is doing well. People want entertainment. People have had tough lives, especially the last two and three years have been very tough. Families, a large section of our Indian cinema viewers, enjoy the balance. So, if the story is thrilling and intense, a little bit of breather here and there makes it a family watch¡±.
Cuttputlli is a thriller film that is a remake of Ratsasan, a 2018 popular Tamil film. Rakul makes an appearance as Akshay's love interest, a schoolteacher, while Akshay Kumar plays the character of a cop named Arjan Sethi who is on a mission to apprehend a serial killer in a tiny hamlet.?
Ranjit Tiwari is the director and Pooja Entertainment is the producer of the Hindi remake.
Cuttputlli is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
