The much-awaited Hindi remake of?Soorarai Pottru, the film which was eligible for Best Picture nominations at Oscars 2021,?Sarfira?has hit the theatres on July 12. Starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role. The film's story is a?fictionalised account of the life of Captain GR Gopinath, who founded the low-cost airline called Air Deccan which also stars?Paresh Rawal and Radhika Madan, the Hindi film has also been directed by Sudha Kongara who also helmed the original Suriya starrer.?
As per the latest reports, the streaming rights of the film have been bought by?Disney Plus Hotstar. Hence, the movie will likely be available to watch on the platform after its theatrical run.?
The OTT release date for Sarfira has not been announced as of yet. It will likely be available only two months after its theatrical run. Hence, it is expected that the Hindi film will be available online by the end of September. However, an official announcement on the same is awaited.?

The early review of the movie have dropped in and fans are hailing Akshay Kumar's performance in the movie. While the film is being tagged as an inspirational and moving biopic by many, some others feel it has?excessive drama that somewhat kills the narrative. One of the tweets read, "Sarfira has a captivating plot, gripping screenwriting and solid dialogues, but what enhances the impact are the towering performances. #AkshayKumar Is Terrific."

One of the other users compared it to Shershaah and wrote, "But just when you thought that this was a jaded template, comes Sudha in all her glory reiterating how the simplest of stories told well can create magic.
