Hansal Mehta, an award-winning filmmaker, directed the new Hindi online series Scoop, which has already won over viewers. The online series, which debuted on Netflix on June 2, is based on the autobiographical book "Behind Bars In Byculla: My Days In Prison," written by Jigna Vora, a former journalist who was a key defendant in the Dey murder case.?
Scoop debuted on Netflix and promises to revive memories of Jyotirmoy Dey's horrific death at the hands of the ever-present mafia before the 12-year anniversary of his murder in Mumbai. Those who have watched the series have praised Karishma Tanna's performance and Hansal Mehta's directing as being excellent.
Reacting to the series, one said, ¡°Call it a hunch but #Scoop on @NetflixIndia by @mehtahansal? and team will do to #KarishmaTanna what? it did to @pratikg80? after #Scam1992.¡±
A second added, ¡°Excellent & captivating series!! Binged all night!! Karishma Tanna was outstanding!!
Talking about the series inspiring people, Hansal Mehta told Indiatimes, ¡°Not just women, but I hope it inspires men and helps them to introspect how we look at a woman¡¯s success in a workplace and how we behave with her. This whole deep-rooted patriarchy we have where we attribute the success of a woman to sleeping around and a man¡¯s to his capability. It comes front of that conditioning that one has grown up with. I hope the show helps all of us introspect on how gender-biased we could be.¡±
