T-Series has dominated the entertainment industry for many years. The company holds the record of providing us with several popular songs.?
Currently, it wants to enter the OTT market.
According to the current rate, they will generate at least 4 series annually. Additionally, they will be given a budget that varies from Rs 20 crores to Rs 100 crores. And they will produce original movies for various OTT platforms.
¡°OTT platforms have emerged in a big way since the onset of covid, and most people are turning to them for a daily dose of content. As a content provider, we cannot leave the opportunity of catering to that base of consumers," Shiv Chanana, senior vice president, films, Super Cassettes Industries Pvt. Ltd, which owns T-Series, said in an interview according to Mint.
The decision by T-Series coincides with OTT platforms' efforts to reduce costs, including content budget cuts in response to an increase in content piracy and sluggish subscriber growth that are having an impact on income.
In addition to this, a current debate about OTT regulation has been a hot topic. A few days ago, Anurag Thakur explained how he thinks that the content on OTT is obscene.?
According to a video he shared on his Instagram, he said, ¡°The process so far is that the producer has to resolve the received complaints at the first level. 90 to 92 per cent of the complaints are resolved by them by making necessary changes. The next level of complaint resolution is at the level of their association, where most of the complaints are resolved.¡±
He further added, ¡°At the last level, it comes to the level of the government, where the action is taken on the departmental committee level, according to the rules in place. But somewhere complaints have started increasing in the last few days and the department is taking it very seriously. If there is a need to make a change, we are willing to consider it.¡±
