Netflix's real-life inspired film Sector 36 has created a buzz all over the internet, just the way the real criminal case back in December 2006 did when businessman Moninder Singh Pandher and his servant Surinder Kohli were arrested in the Nithari serial killings. The mansion shown as Bassi house in the Sector 36 film is now a ruin. According to media reports, thieves stole all the belongings of the house, and it is all deserted at the location. Locals are still scared to even go close to the location.?
The house number D5 in Noida was owned by Moninder Singh, renamed Balbir Singh in the Sector 36 film. The Nithari kand, meaning all the serial killings happened inside the house. The case has been considered one of the most horrific criminal cases where children and women were kidnapped, molested, and killed, and there were claims that the murderers even ate the bodies.
Both of the prime suspects in the case, Moninder and Surinder, have been acquitted in the cases against them now because of the lack of evidence. At the time of investigation, upon several complaints, the number of dead bodies found near the area of the house in question could not be counted because of their state.

The house was then sealed, and the case reached the then-central government. Over 20 cases were registered against both of the suspected men for the murders that shocked the country.
