Plot
Based on the novel, Kids Run the Show by Delphine de Vigan, The Disappearance of Kimmy Diore revolves around the kidnapping of six-year-old Kimmy Diore in broad daylight. The abduction does not leave her friends and family in utter shock but also a larger set of people because she is a rising YouTube star with millions of followers. Sara Roussel (G¨¦raldine Nakache) leads the investigation as SDPJ¡¯s Brigade Chief despite knowing nothing about the world of online videos, social media, and influencers.
This is when Sara happens to engage with the Diore family as well who have learned to live under the gaze of their immediate and far-off communities. Amid all of this, Kimmy¡¯s admirers take things into their own hands and run a parallel investigation while underlining some shocking theories and naming culprits. This helps Sara get closer to M¨¦lanie (Doria Tillier) who happens to be Kimmy¡¯s mother and their conversations over time reveal some explosive secrets.
