It looks like Gadar 2 has revived the carrer of Sunny Deol. The actor has some amazing projects lined up which have already created quite a stir. And now, the grapevine suggests that sequel to inconic movie Border 2 is also in the works.?
While Sunny Deol and Ayushmann Khurrana have been confirmed, rest of the cast will be announced soon - most likely next week. Deol will reportedly reprise his role. It is said that Suneil Shetty's son Ahan Shetty is also in talks for a role in Border 2.
Rumours were rife that Kartik rejected the movie. However, JP Dutt'a daughter Nidhi later confirmed that he was never approached.?"To all Border 2 Patriots! This one will be based on 1971 India-Pakistan war. Unlike the first film which focussed only on the army, this one will show the joint efforts of Indian Army, Navy as well as Air Force, and thus, it will provide a comprehensive view of the 1971 war. It will bring forth "personal stories of war heroes and martyrs to add a human touch to the grand spectacle of war."
The movie will go on floors in the first quarter of 2024.
JP Dutta's daughter Nidhi Dutt will don both the writer's as well as producer's hat for Border sequel.?
An insider told IANS, "Nidhi Dutta who is also penning the script, envisions ¡®Border 2¡¯ as the biggest war film ever made in the country. Unlike its predecessors, the movie aims to showcase the collaborative efforts of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, offering a comprehensive perspective on the 1971 war. The narrative is expected to interweave personal stories of war heroes and martyrs, adding a human touch to the grand spectacle of warfare.
Anurag Singh, who is known for Akshay Kumar-led Kesari will reportedly direct the movie. Nidhi will be the creative force behind the project.?
The groundwork for the film began in 2022, involving multiple trips to Delhi to obtain necessary permissions from the Defence Ministry for shooting in real locations and using authentic names, ensuring an authentic representation of historical events. JP?Dutta was adamant about creating a story that would do justice to the legacy of Border.??
