Criminal Justice 2 Actress Shilpa Shukla Can't Stop Praising Pankaj Tripathi, Says He Is A Gift To All Of Us

Shilpa Shukla is best known for her character BindiaNaik from Chak De! Later she few films like B.A. Pass, Bhindi Bazaar and many more. Nowshe is back with Criminal Justice 2 where she plays the character of IshaniNath.

Indiatimes got in touch with Shilpa where we spoketo her about her journey, Criminal Justice 2 and her co star friend PankajTripathi.

To begin with asked if she did Criminal Justice 2 because thefirst season was a huge hit starring Vikrant Massey, and she replied, “I haven’twatched anything for two and half years now, when I got the call I had no ideahow big it is. Of course when I got the script I realised it is such a wellwritten show and you know if the show is well written, it will go only up.”

When asked she is still known for her characterBindia Naik from Chak De, and if that bother her, she admitted and said,

?“It’s fine,what’s in the name at the end of the day. But of course initially when I didn’tknow much., I used to feel like what’s the problem , why can’t they remember myname. But now it’s very irrelevant, but I am grateful that they still remember me,even today’s generation watches Chak De!. With that entire character I havegone through love hate relationship. ?Nowit doesn’t bother to me, either you call me Bindia, Shilpa or you don’t call meanything, that’s also fine.

Further adding, Shilpa said, “But of course, I hadto struggle with the image a little bit. I remember Rishi Kapoor ji calling withangry young woman on a set. I took that as a compliment, but I have struggledto get over that image for a while.”

We asked Shilpa how her journey in the industry hasbeen so far. Well, the actress is content with her career and says, “The journey hasbeen quite fulfilling and I have no complaints. I am talking to you about thebiggest best web series. And I am back on the show, all I can say there are upsand downs and you got to know how to surface well. If we like the up, we shouldalso embrace the down. If we really believe in what we are doing, we get it.”

Lastly we quizzed her about working with Pankaj Tripathi and she revealed, “I have known Pankaj Tripathi for 20 years now. We did theatre together.He went to National School Of Drama, I remember his preparation for NSD, and Inever went to any acting school because I was very allergic to it. So yes, I knowhim there."

I am so happy for him. I knew he was going to achievewhat many people have only imagined. He is such a beautiful person inside out; his perseverancebought him all the right opportunities. He is a gift for all of us.”
